Manila, Philippines, 24 October 2023 - Partners from Quisumbing Torres' Intellectual Property, Data and Technology (IPDT) group have been appointed to serve in the International Trademark Association (INTA) committees for the 2024–2025 term.

IPDT Head Divina Ilas-Panganiban and IPDT Partner Bienvenido Marquez III will both take part in the INTA Unreal Campaign Committee.

Vina, who also co-heads the Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Group of the firm, served on INTA's Data Protection Committee for the 2023–2024 term. She previously chaired the Unreal Campaign for East Asia and the Pacific, leading campaign efforts in the region.

Bien, who co-heads the firm's Consumer, Goods & Retail Industry Group, was on INTA's Anti-Counterfeiting Committee in 2023–2024. Previously, he served as chair of INTA's East Asia and the Pacific Anti-Counterfeiting Sub-Committee (2016-2017) and was a member of INTA's Enforcement Committee (2018-2019). He returned as a member of INTA's Anti-Counterfeiting Sub-Committee for 2020-2021, and worked on surveys for secondary liability and customs enforcement in the Asia-Pacific region.

As part of the Unreal Campaign Committee, Vina and Bien will continue to advance INTA's consumer awareness initiatives in the Philippines by educating students and young consumers about the importance of trademarks, brands, and the dangers of counterfeit products.

Meanwhile, another IPDT Partner, Reena Mitra-Ventanilla, will serve in the INTA Bulletins Committee and will be responsible for researching, writing, and verifying the accuracy of articles on policy, trademark law and practice, and community news. In 2022–2023, Reena was part of INTA's Building Bridges Committee.

Frederick Jose, on the other hand, is now part of the INTA's General Trademark Enforcement Matters Sub-Committee for the 2024-2025 term. He was previously part of the organization's Enforcement Committee and was appointed member of the Co-Existence Agreement Sub-Committee.

"We are proud to be, once again, appointed as members of various INTA committees. Like the previous years that we served the organization, we remain committed to shaping the future of intellectual property in the Philippines and across Asia. We will continue to foster innovation, protect brands, and educate the next generation about the importance of trademarks in today's globalized world," Vina said.

The INTA is a renowned global organization of brand owners and professionals committed to championing trademarks and related intellectual property. Being part of an INTA committee offers a volunteer opportunity, allowing members to contribute towards shared strategic goals and showcase leadership in the global trademark community.

This year, INTA saw an unprecedented number of over 4,400 member volunteers applying to serve on its committees. Given the volume of applicants, applications for committee memberships were rigorous and highly competitive.
