Manila, Philippines, 19 September 2023 - Quisumbing Torres has once again demonstrated its commitment to promoting women in the legal field by securing its eighth Philippine National Firm of the Year title at the prestigious Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards Asia Pacific.
This accolade underscores the firm's unwavering dedication to fostering an environment where women can thrive, take on leadership roles, and make significant contributions to the legal sector.
Currently, 49% of lawyers in Quisumbing Torres are female, reflecting a balanced gender distribution within the team. Among the partners, 34% are female, three of which heads practice teams, including the firm’s largest Corporate & Commercial/ M&A practice group, showcasing a notable representation of women at the leadership level.
The firm also has a roster of an all-female managers in its non-legal team, showcasing its commitment to fostering diversity and gender equality in leadership roles. A total of 76% of the firm’s non-legal professionals are also female.
The award ceremony, held on 7 September at Singapore's Marina Bay Sands, not only honored distinguished lawyers but also commended law firms that have been instrumental in championing the advancement of women within the global legal community.
Partner and Intellectual Property, Data & Technology practice group head, Divina Ilas-Panganiban is a finalist for two individual categories this year. She was previously distinguished as the "Privacy & Data Protection Lawyer of the Year" at the same award-giving body. She was the only Filipino female lawyer recognized by Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards Asia Pacific across various practice areas in 2022.
Baker McKenzie International, which Quisumbing Torres is a member firm of, has also received various recognitions from Euromoney Women in Business Law Awards Asia Pacific over the years, including Firm of the Year awards in various categories.
