Manila, Philippines, 29 November 2022 - Quisumbing Torres Intellectual Property, Data and Technology Partner, Divina Pastora Ilas-Panganiban, CIPM won the Data Privacy and Protection Lawyer of the Year Award in the 7th annual ALB Philippine Law Awards 2022. Divina bagged the same award in 2021, a strong testament to Divina's outstanding achievements in this area.
The awards celebrate the outstanding work done by private practitioners and law firms across the Philippines and the region in the last year.
Divina co-heads the firm's Technology, Media & Telecommunications (TMT) Industry Group. She participates in initiatives of Baker & McKenzie International of which Quisumbing Torres is a member firm. She is a member of Baker & McKenzie International's Asia Pacific TMT Steering Committee. She is a Certified Information Privacy Manager by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP). Divina just finished her stint as the chair the Unreal Campaign of the International Trademarks Association (INTA) for East Asia and the Pacific and is now part of the Data Protection Committee.
Divina is also cited as Privacy and Data Protection Lawyer of the Year in the Euromoney Asia Women in Business Law Awards 2022. Divina shares her recognition with the firm's Intellectual Property, Data and Technology (IPD and T) Practice Group. Under the leadership of Partner Bienvenido Marquez III, the firm's IPD and T team is a consistently recognized top-tier firm in the field.
